Low Level Readers was a solo presentation held in Room 11 at the Goldsmiths MFA Studios, London, in 2024. The exhibition brought together paintings, sketchbooks, and provisional support structures positioned at a low level throughout the space. Drawing on materials, forms, and methods associated with construction and landscape gardening, the presentation referenced the artist’s experience working in the building trades prior to attending art school. Sketchbooks were displayed as both studies and finished works, while paintings and support structures were presented as interconnected elements within the installation. Through its use of display, scale, and material relationships, the exhibition explored acts of reading, writing, and meaning-making, considering alternative forms of literacy and the ways knowledge may be assembled through processes of association, construction, and connection.
